Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following Database and System Management duties:
Daily management of major applications and subsystems; complete common core tasks including creation of pre-production code backups, new database updates, configuration file updates, database configuration changes, database engine installation and setup, registry changes, virtual and physical IP address assignments, optimization of environments, installation of database tools, cluster building, database tuning, and optimization; maintain database performance and capacity planning; serve in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for service trouble incidents; and use system incident and change management systems to document activities.
Responsible for the following Application Implementation Support duties:
Align engineering development requirements with the capabilities of the site infrastructure and become proficient in understanding how each software component, system design, and configuration is linked together to form an end-to-end solution. SME (Subject Matter Expert) on a small sub-set of applications; work within the administrative protocols that Technical Operations and Software Engineering use throughout the service life-cycle; participate in the design of architectures and automation that deliver against strict requirements for functionality; scalability; performance and reliability and work closely with software developers and Quality Assurance (QA) engineers prior to production release to ensure smooth transition into production.
Minimum Acceptable Degree:
• Master of Science
Field of Study:
• Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
Minimum Acceptable Years of Experience:
• 3 years in the job offered or database engineering
Alternate Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems plus five (5) years of progressive, post-Bachelor's degree experience in database engineering
