Reed Exhibitions is looking for an experienced and dynamic Event Director for our Security Portfolio
Online fraud is escalating rapidly and threatens billions of dollars of economic impact and erosion of consumer confidence. Card Not Present is the source for ecommerce merchants to get the latest breaking news, discover innovative solutions, and connect with peers on how to combat fraud risks and sell securely through digital payments – resulting in maximizing revenues and maintaining brand reputation.

Candidate Profile
The ED will have credibility in brand & product management and a proven track record of customer focused leadership in their given sector/s. They will have successfully built new business segments while growing existing portfolios. He/she should be experienced in establishing strategic alliances/business communities and developing new lines of business and products. They will be skilled in reviewing, recommending and integrating new innovations. He/she will enjoy leading diverse teams of both direct and indirect reports demonstrating a strong authentic leadership style with an active focus on customer engagement. Critical to success will be a high level of emotional intelligence and organizational awareness to allow them to collaborate and leverage the expertise of colleagues across the company on innovative and strategic initiatives
Purpose of the Role
To develop, execute and own the performance of an Event or portfolio of Events. Development and execution uses customer insights to develop new service/product solutions or build brand extension based on customer needs. Events are delivered through integrated multi-channels including integrated combination of F2F, online, and mobile platforms. Performance is defined as the ability to deliver positive business outcomes to B2B and B2C customers (exhibitors and visitors), whilst driving revenue and profit growth for RX.
Focus
1. Acts as a collaborative entrepreneurto see new possibilities, take in information and create insights to develop and maintain an understanding of customers’ needs and objectives through strong business relationships; effectively leverage support teams not under their direct management (i.e. acts as the ‘maestro’ or ‘conductor’).
2. Directs sales and marketingstrategies and execution to properly define and deliver the customer value proposition and deliver a combination of higher revenue and profits. The ED is responsible for the delivery of financial targets related to their Event/portfolio of Events.
3. Builds communities and networks to open up new opportunities and innovation by forming relationships to enable their business area to develop; manages the sourcing and delivery of high quality industry content for publication/broadcast.
4. Creates superior customer solutions by identifying customer needs and problems that need to be solved and leveraging solutions to transform business needs. Collaborates successfully with others internally to share customer insights and know-how .
5. Inspires sustainably high levels of employee performance by creating the optimal state for the Exhibition Team; grows skills and capability by focusing efforts on building the capacity of their business area
6. Maintains team focus by prioritizing, sequencing and focusing energy; leads a holistic approach to planning to ensure commitments are delivered on time and to high quality.
Professional Profile
• Prior Knowledge: Market and sector understanding, sufficient to have a dialogue with, and gain the respect of customers, trade bodies, sales and marketing staff. They are experienced at using enabling technology including data, digital and mobile to deliver improved customer experience.
• Expertise: Several years’ experience in a commercial environment in brand management and/or product management focused role/s with experience of Profit and Loss management.
• Brand and Product Focus: A proven ability to adapt as a product manager to different industries is important. Highly developed industry insights with and a capacity for understanding the issues of their given sector is preferred. The role holder needs to exhibit a keen understanding of the customer market, the product category, and the competitive landscape. They should understand specific market factors such as, customer segments and their needs; buyer behaviours; competitive landscape; product features; trends impacting target customers (i.e. relevant geographic, economic, technology trends).
• Commercial Focus:Proven success of the delivery of financial targets is important.
• Leadership Capability: Experience of building and managing professional teams, preferably in an international business.
Travel
May be extensive at times.
