Design Program Manager - Instagram

We are looking for a Design Program Manager (DPM) to help Instagram's design team grow successfully and become a larger part of the international design community. Design Program Managers (DPMs) at Instagram are passionate connectors and problem solvers. As a DPM, you'll utilize a full range of project management, as well as interpersonal skills to help keep our goals focused, contribute to plans that will be most impactful to the team, and execute specific programs intended to move the team forward. In this role, you'll work with a cross-functional group to help our team of designers, researchers and content strategists grow and scale across 3 offices. You'll also help us build our presence and reputation within the global design community. Above all else, DPMs ensure that teams are stable and running well in order to allow designers, researchers and content strategists to focus on their best work. Strategic, creative thinking is a must!
Responsibilities
• Instagram design on-boarding and education
◦ Build a cross-functional committee focused on on-boarding new product designers, content strategists and UX researchers.
◦ Define educational program goals, track progress and communicate results.
◦ Work with Facebook's Learning and Development team to build out best practices and train educators.
◦ Continue to iterate and scale program, with the growth of the design organization.
◦ Partner with leadership to ensure program meets the needs of each of their teams.
◦ Partner with other continued education programs across the company to understand best practices and growth opportunities.
◦ Create metrics and benchmarks to track programmatic and individual growth.
◦ Develop feedback and quality assurance loops, ensuring that the program meets focused goals and achieves the established objectives.
• Instagram @design Program Management
◦ Kick off the Instagram design team's first official Instagram account: @design.
◦ Partner with a creative director to define direction and goals for the @design Instagram account.
◦ Hire and facilitate partnerships with agencies and contractors to produce content.
◦ Work closely with the design team, Instagram editorial team and other cross-functional partners.
◦ Schedule editorial calendars and publish content.
◦ Create and track metrics and benchmarks to measure the success of the account.
• Design Events
◦ Help organize events within the design community, like talks and workshops.
◦ Partner with other organizations, groups and conferences to create stand-out events that show what the Instagram design team has to offer.
◦ Create metrics and benchmarks to measure the success of events and meet ups.
Minimum Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience as a producer, project manager or program manager with a background establishing systems, supporting teams, and developing relationships across design teams.
• Experience working with product designers/UX as well as cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires time management, task prioritization, and ability to identify problems and work towards solutions
