GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for all camera surveillance within the property to include gaming and non-gaming areas.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes but is not limited to the following:)
• Supervising and directing the operations of the Surveillance Department in the absence of the Director of Surveillance.
• Ensuring that proper notifications and advisements are made when non-specific situations and/or conditions are met by the operation of the room.
• Making well thought out decisions regarding the operation of the Surveillance Room and activities that occur in or involve the Surveillance Department.
• Provide guidance as well as structure and discipline for Surveillance Observers that are working in the Department, regardless of shift.
• Observe and report on all areas under surveillance to ensure compliance with Title-31 regulations, Gaming Control Board regulations and in-house policies and procedures.
• Video and observe the various casino games, count rooms, food and beverage areas, retail areas and casino cage.
• Knowledge of the various casino games and the ability to identify advantage play and/or cheating techniques being applied to them.
• Write investigative reports.
• Communicate with various other departments reporting what has been observed.
• Maintain video coverage equipment and tapes.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Supervisory skills with regards to the interaction with employees.
Knowledge of the departmental standards, the departmental goals and the departmental mission of the Surveillance Department.
Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and materials.
Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
Ability to use good judgment and decision making skills with regards to irregular or suspicious activities.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of gaming operations and regulations (Casino, Cage and Slot operations, Casino games) and ability to identify methods of cheating.
Must have basic knowledge of video equipment.
Ability to interface with all departments under surveillance, outside law enforcement agencies and surveillance information networks.
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage math.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Course in Protection of Casino Games and Casino Operations and Management.
Experience: A minimum of successful completion of recognized casino surveillance training program.
Certificate/License: MUST BE 21 and able to obtain Nevada Gaming .
