Overview
The Leave Administrator (Benefits Rep) will be responsible for all aspects of leave administration in accordance with policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements, federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). Provides front line assistance with benefits and serves as general support within Human Resources (HR) department. Provides excellent customer service to team members, executives and HR partners.
Responsibilities
• Assists in the creation and facilitation of leave administration and training programs.
• Partners closely with HR Business Partners on all related cases/claims. Meets regularly to review the status of cases/claims and develops legally sound strategies for a mutually beneficial resolution.
• Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases. Presents reports as requested.
• Works closely with team members to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all team members on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for associates on leave.
• Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and the legal department.
• Conducts initial investigations of alleged fraudulent activity of all leave cases. Works closely with team relations to identify, research and resolve matters.
• Conducts investigations regarding incidents, interviews relevant parties as needed.
• Manages all administrative aspects of leave claims to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the third party administrator.
• Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
• Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Provide insurers and third-party administrators with enrollment and wage and salary history for participants.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in managing leave cases (FMLA, ADA etc.).
• Systems experience required; Prior experience using LeaveSource a plus
• Prior experience handling employee relations cases preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong analytical mindset (able to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions)
• Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective working relationships with staff
Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills.
• Skilled in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, preferred.
