The AVP, Digital Distribution and Analytics develops and fosters business relationships with existing and potential national clients to meet sales objectives with a focus on data, learning analytics leading to retention of Pearson services and products. Responsible for developing and executing new business models and strategies to grow the organization's revenue associated with Pearson’s long term goals in these fields. Works on significant and unique issues or problems that require in-depth knowledge of data and learning analytics, the clients’ success metrics, and related services.
Responsible for achieving Strategic Partnerships’ budgeted revenue objectives by enabling scalable execution of effective business model and strategy
Directs cross-team collaboration among Executive Directors (sales) Institutional Learning Analytics, Strategic Partnerships, Data-Informed Services, Customer Experience & Engagement, and Account Services Implementation teams in support of business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Identify and prioritize Data-Informed Services (DIS) opportunity target profile(s)
• Assimilate, synthesize, and communicate (internally) customers’ Institutional Learning Analytics needs, budget, perceived value, and capacity to implement (data consumer maturity)
• Define profile(s) of institutions potentially highly receptive to DDA/DIS value, using publicly available and partner-provided metrics
• Gather market intelligence and inform internal service and product groups on roadmap for services, platforms and products
• Work in collaboration with other groups to establish scalable business model reconciling Pearson's data analytics capabilities and service offerings with customer needs, budget, and capacity to implement
• Map continuum of institutional data profiles (out-of-the-box, DIY, Custom) to DDA levels (All-INclusive, structured, highly structured)
• Develop pricing and revenue models to align with institutional profiles and package offerings
• Find and sign pilots of this emerging business models and strategies, modifying models and strategy as appropriate
• Lead cross-team collaboration to define and execute DIS client support, including integration process and delivery; faculty training; product implementation and usage; and Analytics awareness leading to customer outcomes
• Develop and lead training program for all market-facing groups on Data and Learning Analytics
• Grow customers’ ILA awareness through campus and conference presentations
• Advance and close institutional Learning Analytics/Data/Services deals
• Develop replicable evidence of institutional impact (revenue, cost savings, and student success/retention) in collaboration with Customer Outcomes Analytics team
Skills/knowledge/abilities:
• Ability to develop and strengthen partnerships with key institutional customers
• Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Exceptional work ethic, self-discipline, persistence, and ability to work both independently and in a team
• Willingness to listen and learn
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Awareness of current and developing industry trends and issues
• Availability for overnight travel to meet with customers, attend conferences, and collaborate with colleagues
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution; Master’s in a quantitative field a strong plus
• Five or more years’ experience in the higher education industry with demonstrated success in roles with progressively increasing responsibility data and/or learning analytics areas
• Experience in data and/or learning analytics services and solutions
• Experience developing and executing internal and customer-facing training plans.
• Current CITI or NIH Protecting Human Research Subjects course certificate of completion, allowing access to protected personally identifying information (PII), as necessary and in accordance with institution, state, and federal regulations
