Job Description
Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Manager, Community Development for their San Francisco office. Specifically, we are looking for a games industry veteran with experience in managing communities and functioning in a fast-paced production and marketing environment. Ideal candidates will know how to build, manage and evolve communities inside and out, and be able to deftly implement best practices. This individual will report to the Director, Community (department head) and will be responsible for the mentorship of the SF Community Development team, the execution of strategic internal program mandates from upper management and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities:
• Execute global mandates from upper management at scale, providing actionable solutions that help drive forward community team processes, projects, and visibility within Ubisoft.
• Collaborate with global production and operational marketing teams to create go-to-market plans for our AAA titles, emphasizing the value of community.
• Present key learnings and community benchmarks to stakeholders from marketing and production teams.
• Mentor and manage a group of Community Developers dedicated to AAA Ubisoft SF studio titles, providing guidance and leadership to assist in the creation of global community plans.
• Evangelize the achievements of the Community team to production and marketing executives, leveraging relevant community KPIs to emphasize the quantitative and qualitative value of community.
• Implement and enforce community team best practices with the SF Studio Community developers, ensuring that all Community team processes are implemented for SF Studio titles.
• Partner with the SF Studio executive management to ensure that community is represented during major production milestones.
• Prepare, forecast and manage the SF Community Developer content budget, ensuring that the team maintain a positive variance throughout the fiscal year.
Qualifications
• 8 years of total experience working in the field of community.
• 4+ years of managing teams in fast-paced marketing or production environments.
• A proven record of launching AAA games to market, managing communities and developing talented teams. Experience working with “games as a service” is a plus.
• Extensive experience with social listening tools and key social media metrics, with an aptitude for quantifying community efforts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong time management skills
• Initiative to drive change in a quickly evolving space.
• Knowledge and focus on marketing analytics and ROI.
• Experience working in an international environment a plus.
• Entertainment or video game industry experience is preferred.
