Position Summary:
The Senior Program Manager is responsible at the program level. The Senior Program Manager must have experience with all facets of software development, operational support and project management using waterfall and agile processes.
Must have experience in providing advanced project management and support for ongoing programs and for projects across numerous functional and technical units with the company. On each program/project, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that the program is delivered on time, within budget, at a high level of quality. The Senior Program Manager can manage internal teams, vendors / partners, and external resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be well versed and knowledgeable with software development and general project management where they can operation independently with minimal supervision.
• Ensure that assigned programs are managed and projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget while following the PMO processes and procedures.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Ensure resource availability and allocation using SiriusXM portfolio management system (Planview).
• Secure commitments from line managers.
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
• Report and escalate to management as needed.
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders and ensure program / projects statues are well communicated and .=appropriate approvals / sign-offs are obtained.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Monitor performance, improvement, and enhancement requirements to align with business needs.
• Determine scope of work efforts and apportion work into discrete manageable projects.
• Ensure that management priorities are followed and that goals are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 7+ years as a program / project manager.
• Experience working in PMOs.
• Proven knowledge with various IT areas (software development, QA, End to End testing, Release Management).
• Strong background in implementing large complex projects.
• Strong background with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum).
• Strong experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Projects.
• PMP / Scrum certification is a plus.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.
• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent communication and motivation skills, and ability to interact appropriately with senior level colleagues, vendors, and partners.
• Experience delivering enterprise-wide solutions.
• Excellent understanding of and experience with implementation of software applications, including familiarity with data integration issues and ongoing operational considerations.
• Experience with application development and testing.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and MS Projects.
