Manager, Email Marketing - CRM
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Summary:
Producer of the SiriusXM e-Newsletter and subject matter expert in email marketing, specifically email campaigns that drive engagement and loyalty. Responsible for creating targeted email programs that provide relevant programming information to drive engagement. In addition to publishing the current e-newsletter, this position will be responsible for evolving this communication for the purpose of optimizing its retentive value. This includes enhancements to the publishing workflow processes, strengthening its relevance by leveraging customer data to target the right content to the right audience at the right time and further optimizing the newsletters design for both mobile and desktop presentment/engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications /CRM, this role operates at both a strategic and tactical level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Publish the company's subscriber newsletter from planning through approvals and execution.
• May also be called upon to develop targeted communications informing our subscribers of offers or special programming events to reinforce the SiriusXM value proposition and add value to benefit the subscriber.
• Will select criteria for list generation using Aprimo campaign platform.
• Work closely with Programming and Promotions to identify best content to promote for the purpose of customer retention.
• Leverage dynamic versioning capability along with customer provided listening preferences and predicted preference to deliver relevant content.
• Work with cross functional team to capture email and preferences at each stage of the customer lifecycle.
• Work with teams across the extended Customer Retention Marketing department to ensure strategies are consistent and aligned with other stages of the customer life-cycle.
• Work closely with brand marketing and creative to develop materials and ensures that creative execution is consistent with strategy.
• Review all materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure a good customer experience and financial feasibility.
• Continually monitor, evaluate and report the effectiveness of strategies and tests. Look for trends to identify marketing opportunities and areas for enhancement.
• Monitor industry trends to identify new marketing approaches and opportunities.
• Explore new media.
• Work cross-functionally to implement new initiatives.
• Ensure accurate and effective implementation of all strategies and programs by working closely with multiple resources including Project Management, IT, Listener Care, Email, Brand, Legal, Fulfillment Partners. Must be able to establish productive relationships across the organization.
• Support Retention & Communication team with Senior Level presentation and other ad hoc projects.
• Must function with a high degree of autonomy; establish productive relationships with cross-functional departments; communicates clearly and credibly to colleagues in these departments and to senior management.
• Will periodically be called upon to support our subscriber events which may also require travel typically once a month of what usually is a 2 day trip.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years in a related position within comparable industry.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience in this area.
• Must have experience using segmentation and subscriber profiling for targeted marketing.
• Able to write quality grammatically correct copy quickly for emails.
• Must have extensive knowledge of email and digital marketing.
• Must have experience generating target lists for email campaigns.
• Must have extensive knowledge of email design (both mobile and desktop).
• Must have extensive technical knowledge of publishing process of email campaigns using dynamic content assets.
• Agency/email service provider experience preferred.
• Experience working in email delivery platforms, such as Cheetahmail, Adobe.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Strong people and project management skills and experience using digital project management tools, such as Basecamp, Jira, Rally, etc.
• Strong orientation to detail.
• Strong analytical, operational skills.
• Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
• Adept in Social Media.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate clearly and credibly across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated, proactive team player and independent worker.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Strong interest in current events / pop culture / music / entertainment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Thorough knowledge of Visio or process flow software.
• Strong understanding of HTML, XML.
• Must have a strong technical understanding of data-driven messaging.
