Job Description
The Vice President, Group Account Director (VP/GAD) is responsible for leading a portfolio of one or two performance marketing CPG accounts. The VP/GAD is responsible for the revenue growth, management, retention and satisfaction of these accounts.
The VP/GAD may manage and will direct cross-functional teams, including Group Media/Content Directors, Directors, Managers and Associate Managers across departments and will report to the SVP of Client Solutions.
The VP/GAD is accountable for maintaining accurate program forecasts and hitting stated revenue and sales goals. Proven enterprise account management and team leadership experience is essential, along with experience in online marketing and media.
Role Objectives:
Account Management
• Strategic thought leader on the account(s), working with clients to define business KPIs, goals and objectives for brands
• Develops, manages, and monitors client P&L’s for assigned accounts
• Prepares and presents annual financial plans and staffing plans
• Interfaces with other department leads to share ideas, communicate offerings, and to identify new solutions for clients
• Keeps senior management apprised of key cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, potential risks and other nuances which affect business health
• Coordinates with sister agencies and global market leads regarding program operations, planning, and execution
Client Leadership
• Develops a cadence of merchandising materials that supports Performics accomplishments and reinforces innovative thinking within the client’s marketing organization
• Develops and fosters account relationships. Working towards 100% account retention within a defined portfolio of accounts
• Continually refreshes and invigorates essential program strategies to ensure they continually deliver best in class results and have the support of key client stakeholders
• Develops a complete understanding of each client’s goals, markets, needs and expectations of Performics and proactively solve client business problems
• Attends client meetings on ongoing basis and maintains a high level of in-person visibility for US clients
• Prepares and delivers strategic presentations to executive level clients to report out results and build consensus for key projects
• Communicates and implements an account planning process for all accounts
• Leads and project manages input from other departments and orchestrates cross-functional experts in client presentations including QBRs, pitches, etc.
• Solves client problems and uses conflict management skills within a professional environment
Team Leadership & Development
• Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity
• Motivates, leads, and manages internal teams, working collaboratively to drive programs that meet clients’ business objectives
• Drives adoption of account management best practices by example setting, positive reinforcement and behavioral correction
• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members
• Conducts performance reviews and career path plans for direct reports
Cross-Selling
• Identifies opportunities to expand services and protect agency interests
• Understands and explains the features and benefits of all Performics’ products and services such as Analytics & Technology, Planning & Insights, eCommerce, Conversion Optimization, etc.
• Cross sells products and services to grow Performics’ share of marketing spend
• Exceeds semi-annual and annual revenue targets
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred; master’s degree in business, advertising or marketing is a plus
• Successfully worked in a Group Director or equivalent role in the digital media space for a minimum of 1-2 years
• 8-12 years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or e-commerce; client and agency experience preferred
• 4 years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people
• 2-4 years of search engine marketing (SEM) preferred
• Familiarity with SEO and eCommerce (Amazon search is a plus)
• Experience working with CPG clients
• Experience managing large cross-functional teams
