Job Description
Publicis Media’s campaign framework serves as the core platform that enables Publicis Media agency teams to perform all of the tasks involved with designing complex media plans, activating those plans across multiple channels and markets, and then measuring and analyzing the performance of this activity. The Product Management team is pivotal in delivering all technology solutions by working closely with the UX and Engineering teams to define the requirements for the product features that the team develops. The Product Managers seek to understand the problems that the business needs to solve, conducting workshops with agency subject matter experts, formulating possible solutions, and developing proof of concepts that ultimately solve for the business challenges. Product Managers own and guide the functional evolution of Publicis Media products by developing against voiced needs directly by clients or C-level exec strategy as well as proactively adding functionality based on their expertise and industry/competitor trends.
The VP of Product Management is responsible for managing the high-level strategic direction of a number of major initiatives as well as the granular use cases, business requirements, functional requirements, backlog and product documentation to support the development of product. The VP is responsible for maintaining the strategic direction of the products, the status of work, and overall prioritization of work in the Product Development Backlog. He/she will collaborate closely with the Engineering and UX management and be responsible for maintaining collateral on all product features.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the team’s user stories, use cases, business requirements, and functional requirements are following best practice.
• Manage a team of Product Managers by taking a servant leader approach to mentor and coach them in their day-to-day.
• Feel comfortable presenting the high-level strategic product visions to C-level and senior executives.
• Engage with business owners to ensure the backlogs are appropriately prioritized for all user stories and development tasks.
• Collaborate with the User Experience and Engineering management to ensure adequate scoping of new product functionality.
• Drive discussions with third party vendors, data source providers, and business SMEs to formulate new products that will innovate and make the team’s processes more efficient.
Qualifications
• B.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Sciences. MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of related work experience preferred, including direct managerial experience.
• Preferred digital media buying or account planning product expertise, with emphasis on ad-serving, search, analytics, or workflow technology.
• Strong knowledge of advertising/media planning and buying processes with particular emphasis on digital media and overall media operations.
• Strong knowledge of marketing/media reporting and associated KPIs, data sources, and data processing requirements.
• Ability to work and manage projects independently and proactively to ‘get things done.’
• Experience in scrum-based Agile development methodology.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements in support of product development.
• Experience working alongside Engineering and User Experience teams to deliver product, including working directly with teams comprised of a variety of skills (media, analytics, technology, database, business analysis and project management experience).
• Direct product delivery experience identifying minimum viable product and release planning.
