Position Overview
Canon Financial Services is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to independently perform general accounting functions and participate in the monthly close process.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the monthly close process
• Reconcile high volume transactional balance sheet accounts
• Interact with business units to effectively resolve and account for all suspense account transactions in a timely manner
• Monitor and analyze cash accounts daily and reconcile errors
• Prepare accurate monthly bank reconciliations
• Process capital equipment invoices and maintain appropriate reconciliation between ledger and fixed asset subledger
• Process journal entries and record supporting fixed asset documentation
• Effectively track all project related expenditures
• Maintain all prepaid expense accounting
• Interface directly with Accounts Payable and lend guidance and/or assistance as necessary
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and assist in annual and quarterly audit preparation
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting authoritative guidance
• Ad hoc projects as requested by management
Qualifications
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business concentration
Experience Required:
• 1 – 2 years of accounting experience; preferably in high volume, fast-paced environment
