Description
The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Solutions Architect to be based at our corporate office in Cincinnati, OH. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing technical leadership and advice on multiple technologies to develop and implement solutions that meet evolving business requirements and standards for reliability, scalability, and availability.
Key activities
• Provide technical leadership and support designing new solutions for evolving business processes including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features for complex applications.
• Provide design recommendations and expertise regarding the integration of solutions across the business based on long-term IT organization strategy.
• Determine specifications and lead the planning, design, and development of complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes either individually or with members of the project team.
• Develop reports documenting the new processes
• Participate in QA and user acceptance testing
• Investigate new and emerging technologies to remain the subject matter expert on new architectural solutions
• Acts as a mentor and go to technical resource for the solutions team.
Education & Experience/Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline
• 7+ years IT experience with solutions architecture or related field
Skills & Abilities
• Extensive architectural and expert level programming experience
• Previous architectural experience in web based development environments.
• Understanding of web services, including how and when to best utilize.
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communicate and interact with internal employees in a professional and timely manner
• Self-starter capable of working independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Strong structure problem-solving skills
