Job Summary
We are in the process of filling open positions for the combined company following CenturyLink’s acquisition of Level 3 Communications. Job Description
The Sr. Program Operations Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes focused around improving effectiveness and efficiencies of the pre-sales support roles (Sales Engineering, Sales Operations and Sales Support Associates). The Pre-Sales PMO Sr. Program Operations Manager will leverage effectiveness and LSS best practices to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. The Sr. Program Operations Manager will support initiatives enabling the pre-sales support roles to achieve operational excellence in order to gain overall competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team empowered to execute process best practices (ex. LSS, STM, PM) for data quality & process improvement.
• Working with pre-sales, sales and supporting organizational leaders to understand productivity challenges, propose approaches, and implement changes to improve pre-sales support role effectiveness
• Deliver breakthrough levels of improvement in process and role capability, reproducibility of designs and business processes to reduce data defects and attain world-class levels of quality through completion of effectiveness initiatives
• Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of pre-sales PMO best practices
• Work with operating leaders and teams to uncover and assess lean pre-sales support effectiveness and improvement opportunities
• Communicate teams' progress to Champions and Business Leaders
• Identify potential process improvement projects and lead Pre-Sales PMO programs through managing, planning, and monitoring key initiatives from conception through implementation
• Support Pre-Sales PMO projects / programs including but not limited to the management of all program management activities, oversight for program schedules and key milestones, reporting of program status, issue management, change management and risk management

• Experience developing strategic project portfolios leveraging improvement best practices such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP best practices, etc.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage though challenges in a data driven approach.
• Ability to prioritize projects, navigate challenges, and communicate changes and support needed.
• Strong executive-level presentation skills.
• Strong change management and coaching skills.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and build a collaborative environment.
• Previous Sales/SE & Project / Program Management knowledge
• Mix of pre-sales and post-sales experience
• Strong critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as negotiation, coordination, organization, facilitation, and conflict management skills
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically with 5-7 years related experience
• 2+ years previous manager level leadership experience preferred.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
• Sales, Sales Operations, Order Management experience is a plus
• Telecommunications experience
• PMP Certification desirable but not required
