POSITION SUMMARY: Describe the primary purpose of the position. It is the primary responsibility of the Houseman to maintain the hallways of the hotel, guest elevators, linen rooms, stairwells, Guest Room Attendants’ cart of trash and dirty linen.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: This section explains the job and associated tasks, etc.
• Pick up the dirty linen from the Guest Room attendances cart approx. 4 times daily
• Pick up the trash fro the Guest Room Attendants cart approx. 4 times daily
• Vacuum the hallways approx. 2 times a day. One the morning and one in the afternoon
• Maintain the linen rooms clean and free from dust
• Maintain the supplies in proper order at all times
• Wipe down the hand rails in the hallways
• Wipe down the picture frames in the hall way
• Wipe down the hand rails in the stairwells
• Sweep the stairwell steps
• Mop and wipe down the inside of the Guest elevators
• Wipe down the vents in the hallway
• Wipe down the walls and door frames of the guest rooms
• Wipe down the table and flower arrangement by the elevator landings
• Wipe down the light fixtures in the hallway
• Report any repairs needed to your Supervisor or Lead Houseman
• Other job related duties as requested.
Requirements:
List the minimum education required and preferred qualifications for the job classification.
Required: Measurable requirements will be used as pre-screening questions
• Pleasant personality, team oriented, and enjoys working with and serving people
• Knowledge of using a vacuum cleaner
• Experience a plus
• Knowing how to use the proper chemical for the right job
• Must speak some English
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English
Preferred:
• English speaking
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
