Overall Responsibilities:
Provides strategic leadership and direction across the entire sales operations scope
Sets and directs managers and staff, on the policies, processes and strategies of sales operations
Owns, directs, and provides governance on ASD business processes including: Business acquisition process (BAP), business pursuit approval (BPA), Program Approval (PA), Contract Review (CR). Partners with other process owners on Team Feasibility Commitment (TFC), Concept Approval (CA), Change Control (CC), ….
Partners with Product Line Managers on establishing market-entry pricing and commercial terms for new products and features
Directs all pricing and commercial conditions on all quotes / offers to current and future customers. Supports /Partners with Customer Team Leaders and Account Managers to ensure successful delivery and understanding of quotes / offers. Monitors contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Builds new pricing models for partial service and software feature business models that maximize profitability throughout the project lifecycle
Directs the activities necessary within ASD to work with business systems partners (third party) to build, install, and service systems, tools, and applications at lowest cost, agreed on quality, and within specified timelines
Codify and share business processes and business systems best practices
Builds new capabilities to support the selling of ASD software features and/or use of 3rd-party software features in our customer specific projects. This role will be similar to a supply chain & operations position (hardware- centric) but will be dedicated for software features and associated services
Coordinate activities with stakeholders in finance, engineering, marketing, supply chain and others as necessary to support new product introduction activities and/or new business models
Communicates with divisional and department leadership on status of projects to insure delivery on time and within budget
Creates and communicates a multi-tiered visual management system to share key Sales Operations information
Directs ongoing continuous improvement activities to reduce costs while improving efficiency and effectiveness
Analyzes operational processes, escalation procedures and performs needs assessments for identifying opportunities for account specialist / services delivery improvements and value-add to the customer
Partners with GBS to evaluate opportunities for Account Specialists / Services to transition some/all tasks
Assists with global sales strategic initiatives as needed. Examples include development of global pricing policies, price intelligence and mapping, new market assessment, qualitative customer satisfaction surveys, forecasting improvement and optimization
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the function in all global locations
Manage department headcount resources and budgets including the costs of external vendors, tools and licenses, etc…
Benchmark with functional leaders and expert services to identify sales operation goals
