Job Responsibilities:
Designer I - Graphics or Decor
This position may require either a concentration on producing interior design CAD production drawings or a concentration on FFE selections and specifications. Creates functional and aesthetic designs for the interior of hospitality projects based on the needs of the client. Responsible for planning the use and layout of the space and designing with color, furniture, fixtures, etc. Must be familiar with design principles, basic building codes, ADA requirements and flammability standards for interior finishes. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to::
• Assists in concept designs which may include F,F,&E selections.
• May prepare plans and details for schematic, preliminary and working drawings as assigned.
• Coordinates with VP, Director or other Senior Staff as assigned by management for each individual project regarding questions and problems related to drawings and specifications.
• Assists in graphic development and organization of presentation materials.
• May develop F,F,&E specifications per approved outlines.
• May assist in preparing project budgets.
• Documents project approvals.
• Reviews new products and attends manufacturer’s presentations if required.
• Prepares punch lists.
• Assists with installations.
• Job related travel may be required.
• May act as contact for purchasing department inquires.
• Prepare field visit reports.
Job Requirements:
• Requires knowledge of design principles and the ability to interpret design concepts and layouts.
• Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
• Requires graduation from a accredited design school and a minimum of (4) four years experience working in a design field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
