The New Yorker is looking for a video editor and shooter to help us create compelling content that amplifies a wide range of ideas for digital and social platforms with high aesthetic value. The ideal candidate will be an established producer with domestic and international news experience. Producer is required to be hands-on at every step, from conception through pre-production and into post-production and delivery. If you are obsessive and believe that there is a creative solution to everything, you'll fit right in.
Job Responsibilities:
• Research and report stories that will appear on The New Yorker’s digital channels
• Be able to secure appropriate rights and clearances for video usage
• Oversee all costs of production and post-production
• Work independently on short-form stories and series that fit our channel’s strategy of storytelling
• Strong script writing skills
• Possess a wide network of shooters, editors, and producers
• Must be an editor and shooter who understands variety of concepts
• Passion for and familiarity with The New Yorker
• Day to day editing and pitching original ideas.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years experience in video editing and shooting.
• Familiarity with Canon and Sony cameras
• Fluency in Adobe Premier, some After Effects.
• Obsessive attention to detail and deadlines.
