The Role
Aviation Week Network is seeking an Editor-in-Chief to run the Aviation Daily, its five-times weekly, premium subscription newsletter covering the global air transport industry.
The successful candidate will direct, produce and edit content for the Aviation Daily, ensuring highest-quality coverage of and insight into the operations, financials, regulatory, safety and competitive issues of airlines, suppliers and government organizations that impact the commercial air transport industry. He or she will be a high-energy leader who will represent the globally-recognized and respected Aviation Daily brand as a source of quality, accurate, high-value news and opinions on the industry.

Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee, edit and deliver the Aviation Daily content, prioritizing and ensuring the accuracy and topicality of analytical articles that are relevant and useful to its expert B2B readership.
• He or she will have or will quickly develop sources across the industry and relevant government organizations and become a recognized thought-maker in the industry.
• Develop content strategies and approaches to increase the strategic value of Aviation Daily as an executive-level analytical product/briefing on the commercial market.
• Continuous customer feedback loop and content development to meet audience needs.
• The Editor-in-Chief will be expected to use social media, maintain a blog, and participate in industry events as a speaker and/or moderator to both stimulate debate on industry issues and further raise the profile of the Aviation Daily brand.
The Editor-in-Chief will also work with the editors of sister publications, including Air Transport World and Aviation Week & Space Technology, generating ideas for content generation, participating in their industry awards programs, and helping ensure a coordinated approach to the Group’s commercial content output.

Skills / Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree and several years of reporting and editing experience;
• Commercial aviation industry experience/knowledge not essential, but considered highly preferable;
• Excellent writing, editing, research and analytical skills;
• Deadline orientated and highly organized; able make quick decisions and to work under pressure;
• Ability to connect industry dots and spot trends;
• Leadership flair that lends itself to becoming “a voice” of the industry.
