Description
The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture is a private institution that offers a variety of programs concentrating on drawing, painting, and sculpture. Programs offered include a two-year MFA and a three-year Certificate program, with concentrations in painting and sculpture, as well as two-week intensive marathons, and a Summer Session.
The Student Services Coordinator is involved with all aspects of student support at the School. He/she oversees all enrollment-related services, such as maintaining and reporting accurate student records, conducting registration, collecting retention statistics, managing grading and academic progress, tracking attendance, composing transcripts and enforcing student codes of conduct. Additional duties of the position include officiating admissions, managing the Tuition Remission Program, allocating and distributing scholarships, authorizing visas for all International Students as well as advising in all matters of Immigration, conducting International and National exchange programs and general advising for entire student body. The Student Services Coordinator works closely with both the Bursar/Accounts Manager, the Recruitment Coordinator and reports to the Program Coordinator and the Dean. and the Program Coordinator. This position is considered a key management position. Hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.

Qualifications
• MA in Art Education / Arts Administration or MFA in Studio Art (preferred)
• At least 5 years of administrative experience in a higher education setting (preferred)
• At least 2 years of experience with international students and SEVIS (preferred)
• Background and/or aptitude for working with numbers (preferred)
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
• Extremely detail oriented, with the ability to multitask
• Independent professional judgment and a team player
• Creative problem-solving skills in dealing with complex student issues
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access and web applications
Primary Responsibilities
• Admissions & Records: Maintain accurate student records; Receive and process all applications; Schedule full-time applicant interviews; Build relationships toward transfer credit agreements with accredited institutions; Arrange student exchange programs with international and national schools; Work closely with the Recruitment Coordinator on efforts and strategies; Collaborate with Bursar/Accounts Manager on enrollment numbers and tuition balances; Distribute, process & track grades for all MFA students; Provide academic transcripts; Certify the awarding of Degrees and Certificates; Implement, configure and manage the student database; Provide current and projected enrollment statistics to the Dean and Program Coordinator
• Compliance: Implement and collect immunization forms as per NY State Regulations; Oversee reporting to the NY State Department of Education in compliance with MFA standards; Act as the Primary Designated School Officer to administer Form I-20's and other immigration processes for all international students; Act as the compliance officer for the NY State Veterans Administration Bureau; Generate detailed state, system & federal reports to meet critical reporting deadlines
• Student Life: Advise students with academic, professional and personal concerns; Work closely with student representatives; Manage and allocate all Tuition Remission jobs; Oversee Tuition Remission program; Allocate scholarships to new and continuing students; Organize and conduct tri-annual new student Orientations; Address all matters concerning academic standards and progress; Oversee the creation and enforcement of Student Handbook and general codes of Student Conduct
• Analyze and implement tactics to improve the operations of the Student Services Office
• Carry out other duties as assigned
