GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Pursue business leads and contacts for the purpose of securing, via contracts, revenue producing conventions, meetings, conferences, tradeshows and Corporate Business for Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus properties.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following)
• Solicit, secure and contract for Convention and Meeting(s) room blocks and conference/tradeshow space based upon predetermined Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus room rate criteria, room inventory allotments, future occupancy levels and existing market conditions.
• Monitor the usage (pick-up) of the group blocks and adjust accordingly in cooperation with the Room Reservations Department.
• Adjust and negotiate complimentary concessions given to the group based upon the utilization, or non-utilization, of the contracted group room block.
• On a daily basis, solicit and follow up on group leads. Establish new accounts where appropriate and work these accounts via a trace system basis to insure consistent and frequent contact with prospective and existing clients.
• Perform cold calls on new accounts that produce revenues for Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus. Be able to “create business” when market conditions soften.
• Negotiate effectively and close business while maintaining the revenue and ADR objectives for the Company.
• Assist and be a positive team member to insure Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus maintains and enhances its position as a leading convention hotel in our region.
• Work closely with the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority to solicit the leads the RSCVA produces and close on business generated by this public agency.
• Work in concert with the Industry Representation Firms that Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus employs as our satellite Sales Offices.
• Solicit for Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus the leads generated, as well as involve these firms’ sales staffs to help close business for Silver Legacy that originates within their respective territories.
• Organize and conduct site inspections and client visits to Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus and the surrounding Reno/Lake Tahoe region.
• Make Sales Presentations in a professional and effective manner.
• Participate in Familiarization Trips (FAM’s) at Silver Legacy and in the surrounding region to expose potential.
• When appropriate, assist in developing the convention clientele into casino customers through the various marketing channels available at Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus.
• Will be required to plan, and execute travel within your designated territory based on approved travel schedule and budget.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Must maintain strong relationships with respective client base of existing Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus Convention Group customers. A constant presence and positive relationship is required before, during and especially after “the sale” to insure the group receives a quality Resort experience and that Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus exceeds all expectations from the view of the customer and attendees, during the actual dates of the meeting. Possess a positive, motivated and out-going, sales and results-oriented personality. Individuals are expected to conduct Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus business with the highest level of integrity, honesty and transparency, while setting an example for others to follow. Have the ability, knowledge and determination to negotiate effectively and close business while maintaining the revenue and ADR objectives for the Company. Have the ability to act independently and quickly to deal with a number of business problems requiring initiative and sound business judgment.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education/Experience: 4 year college degree, or at least 3 years in hospitality sales preferred.
Certificate/License: Current drivers license required for travel schedule.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be performed in areas, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or brightly illuminated. Requires the use of computers, calculators, phones, cell phones, and other tech related devices. Constant contact with staff is necessary. Regional Sales Managers must travel to Industry Tradeshows to solicit new customers and to their respective Markets/Territories for Sales Calls on key accounts and the prospecting of new and existing clients.
