National News Morning Producer
National News Morning Producer, Denver, Colorado... Have your work air on more than 20 television stations across the country, in big markets including Tampa, Phoenix and Detroit. If you have great passion for news and innovation, this is the opportunity for you! The EW Scripps Company is looking for a passionate and driven leader to take morning shows in Scripps markets to the next level. It's an innovative approach to the way we do news.
Key Responsibilities:
*Select, research, write and edit stories that will be used by morning shows in all 23 Scripps markets
*Find new and interesting stories from a variety of sources
*Create and distribute stories to all platforms
*Monitor various news sources for latest information
*Verify facts
*Communicate content options to stations across the company
*Understand how stories play across several different states
Education/Requirements:
*3-5 years as a producer in a top 50 market
*Proficient in newsroom network, FinalCut or similar editing software and MS Office
*Must be strong writer, innovative and independent
*Must have solid news judgement
*Must be detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Must have editing experience
*Ability to work with people from television stations across the country
