National Journal’s Presentation Center is growing and seeks a collaborative individual to: distill political and policy developments into polished data visualizations and original graphical presentations. The Presentation Center produces PowerPoint-based policy research on the latest happenings in Washington, publishing content exclusively for senior government affairs executives.
Atlantic Media Fellowship
Atlantic Media offers highly ambitious recent college graduates a unique full-time opportunity to participate in our Fellowship Program. This Program is a structured, year-long, paid fellowship for top-tier talent committed to careers in media in business or editorial functions. Additionally, the Atlantic Media Fellows participate in the Atlantic Media Academy, a comprehensive curriculum providing a 360-degree view of the modern media industry covering the editorial, operational, and economic sides of both magazine and digital journalism today.
This Fellowship position will begin in January and will run through December 2018.
Policy and Data Visualization Fellowship Responsibilities Include:
• Producing PowerPoint slides that reflect the most important daily political and policy developments
• Spearheading individual research inquiries and assuming intellectual ownership of products
• Conducting secondary research to give contours to existing research
• Analyzing and synthesizing quantitative data from public sources and think tanks (e.g., Congressional Research Service, Congressional Budget Office, Sunlight Foundation)
• Contextualizing and interpreting research findings within larger ideas, topics, and trends
• Extracting key insights and distilling down topics for an executive audience
• Applicants with an interest of background in copy editing are particularly welcome, but those are not a requirement
