Basic Job Function The Senior Contract Specialist is responsible for implementing and providing continuous improvements in the contracting process business specific or enterprise-wide. The senior specialist will support the aligned function through ensuring the flow of documents and contracts, and generally ensuring that the procedures pertaining to the contracting process are followed and recorded properly. As needed, The Senior Contract Specialist will be able to source new vendors, manage off-shore vendors, oversight compliance procedures, and serve as a liaison with data suppliers. Persons in this role should expect to travel as needed to identify new vendor sources and complete the vendor vetting and initial on-boarding process. Individuals will review and remediate known collection issues and provide supporting data analytics.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Monitors contractual, compliance and/or regulatory issues and escalates areas of non-compliance to senior management.
2. Acts as liaison between attorneys, government and state officials, paralegals, and in-house employees.
3. Source and onboarding of prospective vendors.
4. Travel to territories for site visits, vendor vetting, court-source review and remediation as needed.
5. Interface with data suppliers and oversight SLA expectations.
6. Potential travel component of up to 30%
7. Prepares/compiles documentation and data necessary to track contract implementation and compliance.
8. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's in business or related field with at least 5 years contracting and/or paralegal experience, vendor management, vendor recruitment, procurement or a combination of all.
2. Strong working knowledge of contracting and procurement process.
3. Solid working knowledge of policies and regulations.
4. Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Acrobat, Access. Preferred: SQL capabilities
5. Excellent communication skills; Ability to interface comfortably and professionally with all levels, including with international suppliers.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work under short deadlines and on multiple projects at once
