To that end, we have recently combined these business units to form Elsevier Health Markets. We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Financial Analyst to provide consolidated financial reporting, planning, and analysis for this new organization. You will support the President of Health Markets and his management team, providing structured monthly reporting packages, responding to ad hoc requests, and anticipating the need for new analyses and developing them. You will identify, analyze, and implement opportunities for improving the reporting process across Health Markets. There is ample opportunity for putting one’s own mark on Health Markets financial reporting.

The opportunity
• Support the President of Health Markets and his management team by providing monthly reporting on financial performance, including insights into drivers of growth/decline, variance to Budget, and latest forecasts
• Work with the finance and management teams of each business unit that comprises Health Markets to understand key aspects of monthly performance and provide consolidated feedback on the same to Health Markets leadership.
• Develop and implement reports that aggregate and consolidate key metrics of financial performance for Health Markets to drive business and strategic decision making.
• Drive the overall budgeting/forecasting process for Health Markets through a thorough review of the submissions of each of the individual units, analyzing trends, understanding drivers, and challenging assumptions.
• Drive implementation and monitor progress of projects and deliverables; manage stakeholders across organization
What you should bring
Skills and Experience
◦ Experience in financial analysis, developing profit and loss statements, gross margin analysis, etc. in both in B2B and in B2C markets;
◦ Combining highly structured conceptual thinking, deep analytics skills including variance analysis, an appetite for detail, and the ability to consider and integrate multiple problems at once; deep knowledge of MS Excel
◦ Experience in reporting and analyzing data at the highest quality level, having demonstrated the ability to solve issues with incomplete, uncertain or inaccurate data, leading to reliable insights and recommendations
◦ Strong business sense and commercial mind set
◦ Effective and persuasive communicator (verbal and written) with an ability to clearly summarize data, context and implications
◦ Strong influencer, relationship builder and stakeholder manager
◦ 3-5 years’ experience at a Fortune 500 firm or similar
◦ Bachelor’s or higher degree in an Finance or Accounting
◦ Genuine interest in the health information industry
