Job Description
TEGNA’s Finance group is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team supporting the financial operations of our 46 broadcast television stations located throughout the US. This position will report to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the stations, regional finance hubs, and corporate operations.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, comfortable with changing and fast-paced environments, able to support an entire financial operation, and confident supporting senior level executives. This position requires both FP&A and accounting skills, and the responsibilities include managing certain areas of the monthly closing process, financial reporting, budgeting for corporate departments and strategic projects, advertising sales and sales compensation analysis, payables review and approval, and various other budget and forecasting responsibilities.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Managing the monthly close activity for various corporate departments, and coordinating field closing issues.
• Journal entry support for selected business functions.
• Variance analysis and reporting.
• Selected invoice review and approvals.
• Ad sales compensation program management and reporting.
• Monthly/Quarterly forecasting support.
• Annual budgeting support.
• Ad hoc financial and presentation support to finance executives.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
• 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience.
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; MBA or, CFA or CPA preferred.
• Ability to manage complete functions independently, working independently with an ability identify and successfully execute process improvements.
• Well-developed analytical skills with highly advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with ERP and add-on systems.
• Experience with Lawson, EPM, Wide Orbit, is a plus.
• A customer-service attitude with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• Team player with the ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid changes.
• Experience in television and/or other media is a plus, but not required.
