We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Sales Tax Team as an Indirect Tax Analyst. Working as a member of the Tax Team, you will primarily support the USA businesses, the customers they serve and the States - Department of Revenue.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, analyze and reconcile State and local sales tax returns. Filings include all States, DC and Puerto Rico.
• Upon return review, process, file and send remittance to State and local tax jurisdictions prior to the strict statutory deadlines.
• Reconcile sales and state sales tax general ledger accounts.
• Ability to field and resolve incoming notices from State and local tax jurisdictions.
• Research sales tax laws, recommend appropriate action and clearly communicate the action to our internal and external customers and within the tax team.
• Prepare and provide analysis for the State sales tax audits.
• Provide support for our Vertex sales tax project such as system testing, analysis or managing a work stream.
• Identify, develop and implement lean improvements to drive a best in class tax department.
• Partner with Bose businesses to ensure compliance and drive lean improvements.
• Assist with ad hoc requests as needed and participate in projects.
• Assist in filing business licenses.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ experience in sales tax and general accounting.
• Sales tax experience required.
• Detailed orientation and accuracy are critical required skills.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Ability to meet the strict statutory deadlines.
• Good communication skills required to be able to effectively articulate status of work and resolve issues.
• Self -motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Excel.
• Vertex Experience required.
• VAT/GST Experience is a plus.
Education:
BS degree in Accounting or related discipline
