About the Job
Join the ranks of a legendary force of adventurers, demons, orcs, and scientists to help provide the context and humanity of "why" and "how" our players engage with our games.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced User Research Analyst to carry out user testing on some of the world’s best-known franchises. Armed with diverse skills, you will be responsible for qualitative and mixed methods research, and will collaborate with designers, testers, and engineers to help build great experiences to immerse and engage our players.
Responsibilities
• Execute user-testing studies and activities
• Carry out research using a number of methods including, but not limited to, usability testing, UX, balance testing, focus groups, interviews, surveys, heuristic evaluations, card sorts, exploratory research, and field studies
• Participate in user research activities such as setup, breakdown, game immersion, game review, reporting of the consumers' experiences, and other research related activities
• Provide summarized research results directly to the development teams for discussion and future implementation
• Edit and craft reports as necessary
• Provide design feedback and suggestions based on observation, research, and expertise
• Maintain detailed records of study details
• Provide coaching to the department on how to generate and formulate actionable feedback
• Orchestrate test strategy and design, for public and internal playtests
• Provide input on how processes can be improved
• Upgrade and maintain lab equipment as necessary
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human computer interaction, human factors, marketing, communications, market research, or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a UX or usability tester in video games OR 4 years testing websites or applications
• High aptitude for gameplay mechanics and theory crafting
• Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and verbal)
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Proven ability to translate research findings into actionable product improvements
• Basic knowledge of data analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau, Google Analytics, Excel power pivot or similar
• Adaptable and quick learner that enjoys tackling a large variety of problems
• Passion for user centered design testing in video games

• Master’s degree in related field
• Blizzard Entertainment player who demonstrates EXPERT skill level in one or more games
