Description
The Audience Development Specialist will be an integral member of the Newsy audience development team, providing tactical support across a variety of consumer marketing initiatives. Through collaboration within the Newsy Marketing team, and other internal groups including Creative, Product and Editorial, she/he will coordinate and execute elements of consumer marketing programs to increase brand awareness and viewership for Newsy across a variety of distribution platforms with emphasis on pay TV and over-the-top (OTT) streaming. This role requires someone who is passionate about brand marketing across a broad array of media outlets including digital, social, out-of-home and television advertising.
What you'll do...
• Assist in the development and implementation of key marketing objectives, including tracking progress with individual creative components.
• Actively create and submit daily ad creative for OTT and MVPD outlets that allow for daily advertising asset updates.
• Take an active role in paid media campaigns, including trafficking, placement and budget allocation following set parameters.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of paid media research, testing, and optimization following initial results.
• Organize and maintain a Marketing Library including marketing plans, collateral, creative elements, and promotional materials, including static, video, audio and physical creative assets.
• Conduct occasional research projects to gather insights on competitive organizations, evolving business trends, and consumer interests. Compiles data within a knowledge base to influence consumer and business marketing opportunities.
• Populate and QA check Gracenote and other program guide partners for accuracy of programming information.
• Audit copy and graphics underpinning Newsy marketing on all distribution platforms, secure updates
• Coordinate placement of house ads and promotions on Scripps station websites
What you'll bring...
Education & Experience/Certifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3 or more years of brand marketing experience, preferably within the video or media industry
Skills & Abilities
• Ability to work with content management systems, Web analytics systems, email campaign management systems and social media management systems
• Hands-on experience on managing marketing campaigns with outlets including social, digital, TV, ooh, audio, and preferably with experience with advertising networks
• Thorough knowledge of Google Analytics and other common analytics tools.
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal skills combined with high motivation and passion for your work
• Self-motivated to tackle new initiatives with a can-do attitude
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• High attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects
