Role Summary
Responsible for global technical accounting / controllership. Primary responsibilities include ensuring revenue and associated cost recognition per US GAAP, lead the ASC606 revenue recognition compliance project and other new accounting guidance implementation, work with Commercial and operations teams on interpreting contract terms that can facilitate system automation for revenue and cost tracking and booking purpose, review monthly reporting prepared by VP/Sr. Director of Finance and The Directors, Revenue Compliance. This role also prepares or reviews technical accounting memos to interpret complicated contracts and document new accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with the General Ledger team to complete the Company’s monthly and annual financial close and coordinate annual financial statement audits;
• Review monthly analyticals, including margin analysis, departmental spend and journal entries, and provide insight to the Company’s management, business leaders, finance leaders, accounting and controllership;
• Partner with FP&A to evaluate the Company’s performance versus plan and provide support during the preparation of budgets and reforecasts;
• Ensure compliance of US GAAP Revenue Recognition Standard;
• Review new customer agreements and contract modifications and maintain revenue recognition memos;
• Responsible for the chart of accounts maintenance;
• Work with the Tax department to ensure the financial information used for tax purposes is accurate;
• Maintain, monitor and enhance Company-wide internal control processes;
• Provide ad-hoc analytical support as needed;
• Communicate regularly with management and various business units;
• Provide effective support to the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field, CPA designation required; advanced degree or other professional certification enhances candidacy;
• Minimum of 8-10 years accounting and auditing experience;
• Strong analytical, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills;
• Experience working independently as well as collaboratively; effectively managing priorities while meeting hard deadlines;
• Ability to work cross-functionally with ease;
• Experience managing a team including driving their growth and professional development;
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills;
• Proficient with ERPs including Oracle, Great Plains, SAP
