Description
This position is responsible for working all the organizational aspects of TV production / operations with an emphasis on remote “shoulder” programming. Specifically, this position works within the department to assist in the planning, production management, and venue coordination for shows which involve stages, desks, lighting, led screens, etc.
Responsibilities
• This includes working directly under assigned supervisor or tech manager in scheduling, securing facilities, equipment, and evaluating manpower for any said event. Understanding the basic technical assignments of any given project and identifying those technicians responsible for each area. This applies to both remote and studio network operation teams. Responsible for making and maintaining contact with outside parties (when assigned by supervisor) this includes, venue management, city officials, local police / security, local vendors etc. Must have knowledge of permit process and submission protocol.
• Must be able to work effectively and professionally with all members of assigned production teams. This includes technicians/vendors, producers/ directors as well as talent. Must have strong problem-solving skills and to be able to communicate issues timely and effectively to supervisor. Must provide daily status reports of assigned projects. Understanding of union guidelines and crew contracts and incorporating those guidelines into daily schedules and maintain record of in / outs and meal breaks accordingly.
• Must be able to work with supervisor in the maintenance of expenses both in pre-production stages as well as onsite in accordance with show budget. Approvals for those overages must be sought from supervisor prior to expense being paid whenever possible. Must be familiar with handling and distributing petty cash and handling company credit card reconciliation.
• Must be able to designate jobs to subordinate positions, this includes coordinators and runners. Strong communication when managing above and below your position are essential. Must applying workable solutions to remedy problems with an emphasis on team work.
Qualifications
• A minimum of 1-2 years related remote television production experience is also required. A Bachelor’s degree is required, in Journalism, Communications, TV or Film studies. Past experience in coordinating and managing television sports “stage shows,” which support live sportiving events.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary, including proven negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of Mac and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Experience with fax machines, printers, calculators, laminators, copiers, pagers, walkie-talkies and laptop computers is necessary.
• Good organizational and project management skills are required. Experience in managing travel arrangements is necessary. The ability to travel and work in various weather conditions is required. The ability to multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high pressure environment is essential.

• Needs to be available to work weekends and long hour days, sometimes in inclement weather.
