The job:
Entertainment Weekly is seeking a Deputy Editorial Manager who will be the point of contact between edit and product teams, and represent editorial in product planning and strategy. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross functional teams across edit and product, and oversee various projects, ensuring editorial compliance and best practices.
You will:
• Communicate and train edit staff on new products, features and workflow and track fixes and launches for editorial product
• Schedule editorial staff on weekends, holidays, vacations and days off, awards shows and events
• Manage interns and their projects
• Oversee freelance budgets and new hire onboarding
• Coordinate e-commerce, digital rollout, editorial calendars, newsletter execution
• Oversee editorial compliance and best practices: spot check content and alert editors to fixes to copy, coordinate promotion (homepage, social) efforts to meet sales goals as needed
• Ensure editors know when and where to place video, consumer marketing and other campaigns in articles
• Coordinate office seating, conference room booking, meeting and conference call set up and other administrative tasks in coordination with the editorial manager
