Photographer
WPTV Newschannel 5, is the NBC affiliate in beautiful West Palm Beach, FL, and the #1 station in the Market. We are seeking an experienced and creative Photojournalistto join our team.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Photographer and will:
1. Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
2. Work closely with newsroom personnel to create and develop content.
3. Be responsible for operating various news-gathering equipment, including but not limited to live truck, video camera, and video-editing equipment
4. Demonstrate creative lighting, video and audio capture during live field event.
5. Have knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
6. Drive company vehicle for business purposes.
7. Post content to station's Web sites.
8. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by News Director, Chief Photographer and Assignment Desk.
Must provide a link to examples of your work.
REQUIREMENTS
New creative ideas can only be developed through good communication skills. Team players are a must.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent a must. Some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two to five years of news experience in a television station preferred.
EQUIPMENT: Knowledge of broadcast television camcorder and editing equipment essential. Also must have basic newsroom computer skills.
LICENSE/
CERTIFICATE: Valid Florida driver's license with no more than four (4) points in the past 36 months, in accordance with station policy, and proof of insurability (must carry liability limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident/$50,000 property.
SKILLS: Proficiency with lighting and computer-based editing; proficiency with live microwave truck operation.
