Summary:
Dow Jones is looking for for a Project Coordinator that is responsible for managing multiple priority projects within the Technology group. As a Project Coordinator, your job is to plan, forecast, oversee and document all aspects of the specific project you are working on and to assist more junior members who are also managing projects within the Technology group. Project Coordinator may work with management and multiple groups to ensure the scope and direction of each project is on schedule. This position will also assist with various departmental reporting needs. The successful candidate will have overseen and managed large-scale infrastructure programs over multiple sites and phases including cloud-related programs. The candidate will be experienced in presenting technical material to technical and non-technical staff, as well as, to senior management.
Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of a Senior Manager assist with the planning and drive the implementation of the project
• Facilitate the definition of project scope and deliverables
• Develop detailed schedules, work plans and resource maps
• Successful administration of project management framework, processes, and tools
• Collation of status reporting across multiple initiatives and projects
• Effective tracking and communication of project status and metrics
• Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete
• Provide clear but thorough verbal and written communications to stakeholders at all levels
• Proactively identify, manage and resolve issues and risks
• Liaison with internal cross-functional teams – Finance, Product, Technology, Infrastructure , Legal, Information Security, etc
• Ensure project stakeholders and management are kept appropriately informed of project status and that there is sufficient record of meetings and decision-making
Work Experience / Knowledge:
• Experience working on project involving infrastructure transformation, including cloud migrations (public & private), server consolidation, software migrations, or data center consolidations/eliminations
• Effective team player with exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Ideal candidate is a self-starter, confident, energetic, positive, focused, dependable, adaptable, proactive, resourceful and possesses a “can do” attitude
• Ability to work well under timeframe pressure, handling multiple projects at the same time and posting colleagues on progress regularly
• At least 4 years directly related work experience in the Information Technology field is required
• At least 2 years of experience with project management, infrastructure transformation, data center rationalization, consolidation, relocation or migration is preferred
Required Skills:
• Proven working experience with 2 or more years as project coordinator or project manager
• Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management from a systems development lifecycle perspective
• Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes within a fast-paced business environment
• Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness
• Demonstrated holistic understanding of Datacenter Operations (i.e. Production operations, Server,Storage, Network, Database Management., Systems Management., Helpdesk, DR/Business recovery practices, etc.)
• Familiarity with functional operations of server, storage and network functions
• Ability to manage a project plan, track milestones and identify dependencies
• Experiences in Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Virtualization in large scale environments.
• Strong communication & leadership skills
• Strong, concise documentation skills, reporting and presentation skill
• Skilled in using Google Documents (financial spreadsheets, presentations and collaboration tools)
Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred
• PMP or related certification is preferred
