Basic Job Function
Develop and execute initiatives to support our customers’ database marketing and customer-acquisition programs. Includes both consumer and commercial/small and mid-sized businesses (SMB) entities.
Description
LexisNexis Risk Solutions offers information products on people and businesses to identify and prevent credit, fraud, compliance, and other risks. A fast-growing part of our business is supporting our customers’ database marketing and customer acquisition needs. This position will have primary responsibility for leading LexisNexis growth in database marketing and customer acquisition by providing the strategic and tactical direction for this market segment, including: defining the strategy, goals, and objectives; leading market-specific initiatives; developing and maintaining a high-potential product pipeline; identifying potential acquisition targets and synergies; and facilitating actions to ensure maximum revenue growth.
Responsibilities
• Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and long-range planning to develop and implement the LexisNexis database marketing and customer-acquisition strategy.
• Lead customer interactions to uncover market problems, customer needs, user/buyer personas and processes, and purchase drivers.
• Integrate competitive, business, and resource considerations to develop strategy, product, and go-to-market plans that meet short-term and long-term revenue targets.
• Communicate strategic decision and product plans to senior leaders across the business.
• Drive product ideation across functional teams.
• Develop and lead investment plans, business cases, and metrics associated with key strategic initiatives.
• Initiate and develop pricing strategies and policies; recommend pricing actions and promotional programs in support of market area strategy and revenue plan.
• Facilitate actions to accomplish the market strategy by working within a cross functional team (finance, product development, content acquisition, marketing, sales) to execute go to market strategies in the specific market area.
• Review and evaluate the market area performance on a continuing basis and establish the proper measures of performance, and provide direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.
• Support relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, government representatives, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the market area.
• Accountable for revenue objectives in the specific market area.
Qualifications
• Expert in database marketing and customer acquisition on both consumers and SMBs
• Expert in the needs, gaps, and operational processes of various segments (e.g., financial institutions, telecoms, corporates, and other industries) to acquire new customers and/or upsell to current customers.
• Expert with prevailing data and databases used to successfully target new customers.
• Familiar with the leading vendors of data and databases for marketing.
• Experience across the spectrum of database marketing products (e.g., list generation, segmentation, suppression, response analytics, etc.).
• Familiar with various industry players’ internal systems and platforms.
• Demonstrated competence with strategic planning and product planning processes.
• Experience in strategy, product marketing, product development, product lifecycle management, and go-to-market activities.
• Experience developing investment/business cases and leading their implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills.
• Proven customer-interaction skills.
• 7-10 years experience.
• BA/BS or equivalent experience. MBA appreciated
• The ability to work effectively within a matrix organization
• Some travel within the US (10 – 20%)
