Manager, Workplace Environment & Employee Events
Glu is looking for a Manager of Workplace Environment & Employee Events. We’ve just built and moved into our beautiful new corporate HQ – designed specifically to support our open creative culture. We believe that the environment is key to a successful business and employee experience. In this new role, you will not only be responsible for enhancing and maintaining this environment you’ll also be responsible leading the North America Workplace and Employee Event Team meetings and managing the Bay Area Workplace team.
You have a high level of customer service, are collaborative, transparent in your communication and willing to do what it takes to get the job done (nothing is too small or large for your attention).
You are responsible for making sure the Glu HQ and Bay Area offices run smoothly. You do this by being organized, planning and keeping a positive attitude. You’ll be responsible for building scalable processes and practices, communicating often, keeping a clean and organized facility, managing vendors, supplies, organizing office activities and annual company events. This role is central to our organization and touches all aspects of our daily work.
A key to your success is your engagement with our employees, understanding their needs and how to foster a creative collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
• Manage Studio Managers in our 2 peninsula offices as well as receptionist and day porter in San Francisco.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day office management tasks and culture activities.
• Demonstrate common sense and sound decision-making abilities in all matters pertaining to managing office operations.
• Work collaboratively with other operational teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, etc.) to maintain, develop, and improve administrative processes and procedures.
• Manage relationships, approve invoices, and drive the improvement of services/results from service providers and vendors (e.g., building management, contractors, suppliers, etc.)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and implement workplace environment changes that support Glu’s culture and ensure a memorable workplace experience
• Ensure the office (specifically common areas and conference rooms) is professional, business-ready, organized, and clean at all times.
• Consistently create new opportunities to bring delight into the workplace through engagement, events, and surpassing the expected
• Create and implement successful culture activities in the office.
• Design and implement office policies and establish standards and procedures
• Manage an amazing physical environment
Skills & Experience
• 5+ years experience in a combination of leading facilities, office management and events
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced, creative work environment
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to drive projects forward
• Decisive problem solver and super collaborative approach to everything
• Experience in high-tech and/or start-up preferred
• Solution-oriented and proactive
• A service-focused, confident self-starter
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others, at all levels of the company
• Positive, cheerful, and you love to make people smile
