Reporting to the Vice President, Integrated Sales Midwest, the Account Director will partner closely with many of the largest advertisers and agencies developing best-in-class digital solutions that build strong businesses and brands. Knowledge of digital media combined with strong communication and analytical abilities will drive new and existing business growth. You anticipate how decisions are made. You are persistent in exploring and uncovering business needs of Gannett’s key clients. You understand how the range of USA TODAY Network product offerings can and will grow their business. You partner with clients advising them on the broad range of products across display, video, branded content and mobile allowing them to connect instantly and seamlessly with targeted audiences.
Responsibilities
• Develop high-level relationships and serve as a trusted partner with major advertisers and their agencies, optimizing their advertising growth.
• Work collaboratively within a team to drive business growth with existing customers as well as develop new relationships across a variety of business categories.
• Generate business plans to define your strategies and tactics.
• Understand and adapt to Gannett's ongoing product and technology developments.
• Manage multiple cross-product opportunities and projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Five or more years’ work experience in advertising sales.
• Prior experience working cross-functionally across a large organization preferred.
• Knowledge of digital media platforms, measurement techniques and strategies.
• Understanding of traditional and well as contemporary marketing tactics and strategies.
• Deep understanding of the media landscape and a commitment to advance Gannett's forward-looking strategies within the marketplace.
• Proven ability to achieve strategic business goals.
• Effective team player with strong customer service, communication, presentation and creative problem-solving skills.
