Starz is currently seeking a marketing insights and analytics leader to join the Insight and Analytics department. S/he will serve as a change agent in the company – transforming the way the company understands our customers and how they consume our content. The role is charged with leading the team that monitors and reports on all forms of content consumption, across all platforms and business partners.
The candidate will be highly collaborative and work cross-functionally across all major departments. The role is highly visible and includes senior management stakeholders within marketing, press, product development, and affiliate sales.
Responsibilities
• Build out and lead the consumption analytics team
• Deliver high-level analyses of multiplatform performance and audience trends to senior executives to drive core business decisions, product improvements, and increased revenue.
• Maintain deep understanding of the television content landscape. Continually communicate results and trends to business units
• Develop sophisticated processes for evaluating content development and acquisition opportunities
• Construct methodologies and metrics for understanding content’s value to business
• Work closely with other members of insights & analytics department to join data sources across verticals to create holistic understanding of customer and how they interact with our products
• Develop deep understanding of business units’ needs and develop effective methods for communicating actionable insights
Required Skills:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree and equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years working with content consumption at a top media company, preferably television
• Minimum 2 years working with data visualization tools with a strong preference for experience with Tableau
• Minimum 2 years developing and presenting research to senior management
• Deep understanding of Nielsen and Comscore data sets and reporting tools
• Deep understanding of digital video consumption reporting and measurement methodologies
• Strong understanding of data structures, query language, and methodologies for maximizing the value of datasets
• Understanding of statistical modeling methodologies and experience working with data scientists preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills – in particular, an ability to effectively relay consumer insights through story-telling
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with all levels of management
• Occasional travel to Los Angeles
