Job Description
As the Public Relations Manager, you will bring awareness of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas brand to the world, and inspire our guests to experience the hospitality adventure that awaits them.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Support The Cosmopolitan press activities, local and out-of-market events and logistics including management of media room, press conference, special events and FAM trips.
• Support the VP & Director of Public Relations in creation and implementation of Resort PR planning and strategy.
• Oversee the creation of media lists by our agencies and determine strategy for pitching media coverage.
• Respond to general media and internal requests and traffic information flow.
• Arrange television coverage/interviews to promote Resort facilities, events, programs, personnel, etc.
• Arrange and conduct property tours and interviews for the media and other key individuals.
• Distribute and pitch incoming media opportunities and inquiries to appropriate partner, agency, CoStar or executive.
• Maintain and manage all media kits, media activity database, image library, press room content and updates for the Resort.
• Manage photo shoots, logistics for in-coming media and VIP events and provide copy points and graphics to support promotions and campaigns.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop concepts, strategies and tactics for public relations and promotions programs.
• Prepare PR production schedule, media coverage and reports for internal distribution.
• Work with outside agencies and vendors to maintain the Resort web site -- specifically providing proper information for press room.
• Work with internal communications and all departments to provide updated content for their needs.
• Maintain and manage media contact databases for local contacts, feeder markets, national media and international media.
• Develop, write and update written press materials for editorial pieces for publications and special media broadcasts for The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.
• Manage production of electronic press materials (b-roll, flash drives) and organize public relations files/drive.
• Monitor and distribute press coverage internally.
• Act as liaison with PR firms and partners to evaluate reports, ensure tracking is complete and copies are received.
• Project management from inception to execution for in and out of market promotional events.
• Manage press strategy behind the roll out of property press announcements.
• Monitor public and legislative issues.
• Research new media and technologies relevant to industry and position.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Three to five years' experience in a related field with a Public Relations focus.
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in public relations, communications, marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
• Ability to write a vast variety of communications deliverables.
• Ability to interact with external audiences and media inquiries.
• Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
• Advanced knowledge of skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and email.
• Advanced writing ability and excellent written communications.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from employees and/or guests.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.
• Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
• Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures.
• Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
• At least 21 years of age.
Preferred:
• Experience working in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the property in all locations. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment typically allows smoking.
Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests is necessary. Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires use of standard office equipment. Requires basic math. Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
