Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Director, Streaming Design will be responsible for leading a core team of SiriusXM UX Designers in crafting, shepherding, and evolving an exceptional design for the SiriusXM streaming service on Mobile (iOS & Android), Tablet, Web, & Smart Home Devices, ensuring consistency of layout, functions, features, and design metaphors across multiple products and form factors while preserving the unique characteristics and identities of each. The Director, Streaming Design should ensure the team's weekly priorities are appropriate and tracked to completion, meeting all stakeholder deadlines and that the resulting work is more than just complete; it should be work that aims to surprise and delight the customer enhancing their experience in unexpected ways while remaining clean, simple, and intuitive. The Director, Streaming Design will report to the Senior Director of Product Experience and will collaborate closely with the Automotive Design Team Director, and the Reference Design Team Director, various UX Designers, external design agencies, Product Managers, Engineers, and other corporate stakeholders to clearly communicate and document the vision that can then be implemented by our engineering teams. All work will be done using an iterative, agile-development, methodology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the Streaming UX Design Team: setting sprint priorities and reviewing work-in-progress as they follow industry best practices and company conventions to develop engaging functional design experiences using the latest UX trends.
• Work closely with our design agency, and user experience teams to efficiently guide the design and development of features and functions for our various streaming products.
• Optimize functional design experiences through A/B testing, stakeholder input, & user-testing.
• Remain well-versed in UI standards, key-platform HIGs, and emerging trends in the UX/UI world.
• Oversee the creation of wireframes, user flows, performance benchmarks, and feature summaries for appropriate consumption by engineering / stakeholder teams.
• Ensure functional design experiences are documented in a clear and detailed manner, both for engineering consumption as well as executive-level summaries.
• Present design process and decisions to stakeholders complete with rationale and potential alternatives.
• Manage design team resources to ensure maximum efficiency among competing requirements and deliverables.
• Provide status updates on project/design progress as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• 4 UX designers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5-7 years of experience within the user experience design/agency industry.
• Proficiency in Sketch, & Adobe graphic design suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, & InDesign.
• Experience with responsive web design and user experience.
• Experience with mobile application design and user experience.
• Experience with prototyping tools for selling/illustrating functional design concepts.
• Experience with video editing tools for creating short-form sizzle/educational videos for selling/illustrating design concepts.
• Experience with in-vehicle design, and NHTSA guidelines.
• Ability to create wireframes, user flows, & feature annotations.

Technical Skills:
• Sketch.
• Adobe graphic design suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in inVision, Axure, & other rapid-prototyping tools.
• JIRA, Confluence, and other documentation / Agile-task-tracking tools.
