The Marketing Manager will oversee the promotion and marketing of IMG Motorsports in the Americas with a primary focus on IMG’s annual World Rallycross (WRX) of the USA event being held in Austin, Texas.
This position will raise World Rallycross brand awareness and maximise event attendance as well as drive ticketing revenue across public, charity and corporate (non-sponsor) participants. The Marketing Manager will also ensure that consumers are engaged in the events before, during, and after they take place, with a view to improving event NPS and repeat business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maximize consumer attendance and revenue across IMG Motorsports’ Americas events.
• For the USA WRX event, work closely with Circuit Of The America’s marketing and ticket sales teams.
• Track revenue/ticket sales on a daily basis and use analytics to monitor, evaluate and optimize marketing and communications strategies and effectively communicate those results to all stakeholders.
• Execute a multichannel, multi-phase customer acquisition and engagement plan with a view to maximizing attendee revenue and brand equity.
• Develop creative narratives (design, messaging, voice, content, advertising and promotions execution) that brings the experiences and events to life across linear and digital channels.
• Develop event-related digital platforms including websites, mobile apps, social media profiles, influencer programs, entry mechanisms and on-site engagement solutions.
• Manage photography, onsite content creation and media relations to meet agreed upon objectives in conjunction with the IMG Motorsports team.
• Act as the ‘voice of the consumer’, develop actionable insights that inform our consumer strategy, including primary and secondary research, market intelligence, evolving digital and mobile behaviour, knowledge of the competitive landscape.
• Develop and activate on site market research team during events.
• Monitor competitor activity and track industry trends.
• Manage marketing and PR budgets for each event, including spend, attendee and revenue forecasting, and track against yearly targets and other strategic KPI’s.
• Manage relevant external suppliers, media partners, stakeholders and agencies, contracts, delivery and review.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including event operational teams, sponsors, local and state government bodies, venues and federations) to plan and deliver PR narratives in line with agreed upon objectives.
• Manage all event communications and coordinate crisis communications with division and corporate teams.
• Oversee and protect the brand and brand guidelines for each event, recommending and executing brand enhancements and extensions where necessary.
• Own the post-event consumer feedback process including event questionnaires, analysis, and internal communication.
• Liaise with IMG Motorsports management to develop long-term growth strategy within the Americas.
• Liaise with IMG’s Global Consumer Marketing team to assist development of internal best practice within event consumer marketers.
REQUIREMENTS
• 4-5 years’ experience of hands-on multichannel consumer marketing, with proven success in generating ticket sales for events, customer segmentation, pricing and promotions, brand communication, digital media planning and analytics, and social platform and content marketing (organic and paid).
• Experience in the above, preferably in Motorsports in the USA.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Highly numeric, commercial disposition.
