We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join Snap Inc! Working closely with the Accounting team, you will review important areas of billing, assess collections, apply accounting guidance, and report on related metrics. Working from our Venice, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with Sales Finance, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, and other business partners to ensure accurate GAAP reporting of ad revenues and related revenue share payments.
What you’ll do:
• Establish and streamline processes between Sales Finance and Revenue Accounting
• Review sales orders and master service agreements for revenue recognition implications, including multiple element arrangements
• Prepare account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for revenue, AR, deferred revenue, and other areas as assigned
• Be involved in the monthly close processes, including the preparation of material for internal and external reporting
• Prepare various reconciliations and analyses of account changes and activity
• Help identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOx
• Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits
• Improve and document general processes for all facets of advertising revenue
• Create reports to support and improve the Revenue Accounting team’s operations
• Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience with an emphasis on accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and allowance for doubtful accounts
• Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.)
• Strong accounting knowledge and an understanding of US GAAP
• Fortune 500, private, and/or startup company experience (more than one preferred)
• Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as superior attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, as well as external senior-level clients
• A proactive person who can multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• A detail-oriented individual who has a high sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work extended hours as needed
• NetSuite experience preferred
• Someone who is flexible, eager, and willing to build from the ground up
