As Managing Director, Product and Delivery, you are focused on the quality and profitability of our work, and responsible for managing a team of experienced designers, developers, and project managers. You will help manage cross-team operations, and work with the other Managing Directors to ensure their teams have the right level of systems and process training. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders across company, and work to understand the priorities and opportunities for AMS to help distinguish The Atlantic in the media landscape.
In this role, you will work with the Director, Product Development and others to proactively develop new digital tools and solutions that differentiate AMS in the content and agency landscape. You will work with the Associate Director, Product to coach and mentor a cross-functional team of project managers across the organization who are skilled in product development, UX design, operations, digital marketing, editorial program management, and branding. You will also oversee the ongoing evolution of the AMS visual identity and digital sales tools in collaboration with the Marketing and Sales teams.
You will actively participate in new business development, and help our clients and prospective clients to understand the outcomes AMS can drive. You are someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and a collaborative spirit, who is excited to take our business to the next level.
Essential qualifications and experience:
• 10+ years experience in design, product development or emerging technology
• Experience managing a team of direct reports of varied backgrounds and skill sets
• Demonstrated experience launching, marketing, and supporting new products and services
• Experience working with cross-divisional stakeholders, external clients, designers, and software developers to document product requirements and define product roadmaps from an end-user perspective
• Working knowledge of agile and lean software development methodologies, and the importance of iteration and continuous validation
• Excellent problem solving skills, analytical skills, and a strong level of comfort with data-driven decision making and financial planning
• Entrepreneurial and driven, demonstrated ability to thrive in a constantly changing and highly competitive space
