The Tennessean, USA TODAY NETWORK Tennessee is seeking Director, Client Services & Digital Strategy.The Director, Client Services & Digital Strategyis responsible for leading an account management, ad operations and digital campaign optimization team responsible for client results, retention and customer satisfaction. This individual will work collaboratively with local sales leadership team to ensure operational best practices are effectively deployed to meet local controllable revenue for print and digital with a focus on exceeding client expectations and maximizing client results.
The position will be responsible for conducting advertising product ROI analysis, assists with business and financial modeling, program development and competitive market intelligence to guide and prioritize existing and planned efforts. The Director is responsible for the operational requirements of sales support & development, creative workflow and processes and edition planning to insure ad and publication quality is maintained. Plans and maintains ad operations expense budgets.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
• Ensures that the business unit consistently meets and/or exceeds both revenue and client expectations.
• Always aware of performance goals: developing customer relationships via excellent customer service, maximizing upsell opportunities, and sharing insights gained from the integrated marketing performance report with clients.
• Ensures that high levels of performance are always top of mind and that the Account Manager, Digital Campaign teams are working effectively in their swim lane with the Account Executive and Client Strategy.
• Maintains a high awareness and understanding of the market and the competition, and each account manager’s performance to all goal and targets.
• Holds staff accountable to revenue goals, objectives, KPIs and other metrics. Creates effective formal activity metrics for staff.
• Develop digital operations guidelines and best practices for Star Media in collaboration with Interstate Regional Client Services, Central Ad Operations, Gannett Local, USCP Digital Sales & Operation teams and other partners.
• Responsible for ensuring rate integrity, operational excellence and customer satisfaction through superior campaign follow-through and reporting.
• Develops & plans implementation of local programs to maximize revenue opportunities that are specific to this market. Collaborate with local leadership to provide digital product insights & best practices/guidelines.
• Lead the development and on-going review of digital advertising retention and overall site sell-through, eCPM and yield performance. Identify key performance indicators that drive advertiser retention, ROI and upsell opportunities. Use knowledge to determine areas of improvement and develop actionable plants to leverage opportunities, trends to achieve market share objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years sales and sales management experience required with 5+ years of digital experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills and experience in building and managing sales teams to meet revenue goals.
• Ability to build and to manage a B2B sales organization.
• Ability to maintain a deep and broad understanding of the market (e.g., customers, prospects, key trends, and competitive media).
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, both written and oral.
• Demonstrated success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent digital knowledge and usage.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills.
• Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office applications.
