Advertising Sales Intern
Hanley Wood is seeking an Advertising Sales Intern to join the media sales team. The Advertising Administrative Sales Intern will beimmersed in the digital sales and marketing world, learning about new products and customer solutions. Successful team members thrive in an ever changing landscape and approach their roles with drive and enthusiasm.
Hanley Wood internships provide a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight and experience with a dynamic digital media company. Interns will gain important insights into the media and publishing world, and overall will enjoy a fun and worthwhile experience.
Each position will offer 30-40 hours per week at $15.00/hour – specific hours are flexible within our core business hours (8:30AM – 5:30PM).
Responsibilities will include:
• Manage executive calendars; schedule client meetings, conference calls, and follow-up appointments
• Complete sales call prep/reporting as required
• Update sales activity pipelines
• Track proposals through preparation, follow up, and completion
• Produce weekly sales activity reports
• Maintain client relationship management database in Salesforce.com
• Prepare marketing materials for presentations and meetings
• Manage VP/Publisher/Management expenses via receipt management and expense reports
• Prepare marketing materials and assist with day-of tradeshow/event logistics
• Other administrative duties as required
All qualified program participants will possess the following Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication or a related field required. Recent college graduates preferred. Undergraduate students will also be considered for the program.
• Ability to accurately understand scope of assigned projects, clients’ goals and requirements, and budgets through meetings, taking notes, and asking questions
• Ability to adhere to all deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong sense of professionalism
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects and stories simultaneously
• Organized self-starter with a positive attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Must display the maturity required to work in a casual, informal office setting
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous work/internship experience with advertising, media or sales
• Experience with online sales/research tools
• Exposure to/experience using Salesforce.com
