The Director, Digital Pricing and Revenue is responsible for driving Condé Nast’s digital strategy as it pertains to revenue generation and general operations, creating and developing new streams of digital revenue, developing and implementing reporting and forecasting systems, and working across multiple departments to strengthen and grow the digital business. This role requires a strong analytical background, a proven ability to work across multiple groups (including Sales, Finance, Inventory, AdOps and Account Management), a deep understanding of digital media, and a willingness to work towards creative solutions to complex problems in a timely way.
This role is integral to Digital Media Operations across all of Condé Nast’s brands, and will have a strong impact on the growth and development of a highly dynamic area in the publishing industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and establishing standards within a digital media operation.
Primary Responsibilities
• Support Business Planning & Revenue Models (Direct Onsite Display, Video, Programmatic, Social, Branded, Email, etc)
• Monitor and report business and operational metrics to see revenue opportunities (ads per visit, ARPV, etc)
• Identify market trends and analysis aligned to revenue opportunities
• Establish and execute digital business rules across Display, Video, Programmatic, Social, Branded Content, Email, etc. for all Condé Nast brands, focusing on pricing, business terms, and delivery, in order to maximize overall revenue and yield
• Create and maintain sales and pipeline forecasting across multiple categories to highlight areas of growth and decline
• Develop corporate policy as it relates to deal structure and go-to-market strategy
• Effectively communicate policies and opportunities throughout the entire business organization
• Partner with the Digital Sales Operations team in process optimization
• Lead a group of analysts responsible for developing and automating reporting that serves needs of the business organization
• Manage a team that evaluates and approves sales exception requests on an individual deal basis
• Collaborate with the Inventory & Yield team to manage risk and evaluate campaign optimization
• Work with the agency sales team to craft annual agreements with agency holding companies
• Support all sales and planning teams with solutions to client requests that fall outside standard digital media policy
• Perform revenue and yield analysis to track progress and inform real-time business decisions
• Evaluate partnership and business development deals for additional revenue opportunities
• Create and monitor sales and operations KPIs
Desired Skills and Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in digital media, preferably within revenue, pricing and yield
• Proven ability to develop data-driven modelling to drive business decisions
• Strong communication skills, ability to work across multiple departments to implement strategy and policy
• History of successful design and execution of long term projects
• Ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives and prioritize appropriately
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, comfortable working with large data sets
• Familiarity with Ad Servers, Order Management and Financial Systems (DFP, FatTail AdBook and PeopleSoft)
• Sense of urgency in working style, ability to drive quickly to a solution
• Team management experience strongly preferred
