Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Connected Vehicle Business Development would be responsible for managing the RF(x) response process, recommending strategic partnerships necessary to expand the Sirius XM connected vehicle service portfolio, and assisting the OEM Partnership team in the presentation and sale of new services and service concepts .
Responsibility for managing the RF(X) process includes providing the Finance group the business assumptions (wholesale and retail pricing, service packaging, anticipated convert rates, volumes, term duration, start-up and associated on-going costs) and RF(X) specifics necessary to develop a financial model, receive executive sign-off and provide an on-time bid response back to the OEM.
This position will work with other corporate and CV business development role managers in determining new service initiatives that should be undertaken to add higher platform value to Sirius XM's OEM clients. This position will assist in the prioritization of these initiatives and recommend which initiative should be developed internally, externally (but company owned) or executed externally via preferred partner business agreements.
Finally, as the subject matter expert, the Senior Director of Connected Vehicle Business Development would be responsible for regularly meeting with Sirius XM's clients in the presentation of new service and service concepts. These presentations would be conducted in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.
Success for the Senior Director of Connected Vehicle Business Development position will be based on on-time RF(x) responses, OEM selection of Sirius XM's bid proposal and the addition of new, revenue generating business service sets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide the business assumptions to the Finance group in development of financial models and utilize the resulting models to respond to potential client RF(x) inquiries.
• Collaborate with the Sirius XM OEM Partnership Team in the follow-up and "selling" of the Sirius XM RF(x) value proposition and new service suite.
• Once an RF(X) moves to an award, this position has the responsibility, in collaboration with the OEM partnership team, to develop and execute the appropriate master services agreement and pricing documentation with the client.
• Evaluate market trends and competition in development with other Corporate and Connected Vehicle business development managers, a prioritized roadmap for service expansion.
• Conceive and execute proof of concepts pertaining to the proposed new service partnership or service.
• Execute all legal agreements that night be necessary to integrate third party content into the Sirius XM service suite.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This position will have direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering/business or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 15+ years of Product Management and or Business Development experience.
• 7+ years of P&L management experience.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Solid public speaking and presentation skills.
• Customer focus with proven ability to establish productive working relationships at all levels and influence change with internal and external business partners.
• Experience in identifying and initiating new program development.
• Experience in identifying and negotiating vendor integration agreements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong follow-up skills.
• Ability to maintain good balance of strategic vision and tactical implementation.
• Must have the ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Technical and business acumen developed through education and work experience in the area of Telematics, connected device service development, interactive technologies and/or app development.
• Development of business assumptions in support of financial modeling.
