Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a high-performing and versatile Systems Administrator to join the Blizzard Arena IT team. You’ll be joining a small technical team focused on engineering, building and delivering the technology that powers Blizzard Events and eSports. Additionally, you will be supporting the corporate infrastructure behind our Global Broadcast team working onsite at the Blizzard Arena.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and administer the local Systems infrastructure used by our Global Broadcast Team
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting server and storage availability
• Assist Desktop and Network disciplines in set up and deployment
• Work with other internal IT teams to integrate new systems and architecture
• Work with Development Teams to prepare and administer event game services
• Provide systems support during live events and broadcasts
Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years’ in Systems Administration or equivalent experience
• Experience with supporting production systems in a high-pressure environment
• Experience administering a corporate Windows Server environment including Active Directory, Group Policy, and configuration/deployment systems
• Experience with virtualized infrastructure such as VMWare or Hyper-V
• Intermediate knowledge administering Linux systems running CentOS or RHEL
• Basic experience with EMC or NetApp storage systems
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef
• Familiarity managing and configuring monitoring tools such as Solarwinds
• Strong scripting skills with Powershell, Bash or other languages
• Strong PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills
• Exceptional inter-personal skills, oral and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative
• A passion for video games
• Able (and willing) to lift a minimum of 45 lbs.
Pluses:
• Experience working in a live broadcast environment
• Experience supporting live events
• Experience with multiple internet streaming platforms and applications
• Familiarity with video encoding and transmission
