Job Summary:
Core Responsibilities:
Contribute to teams responsible for supporting the Comcast Commercial Network, the national network that combines data, voice, and video onto a single converged infrastructure for commercial service offerings, by performing infrastructure and routing design, developing network strategies, and executing network implementations; provide overall network engineering support, including deploying and migrating hardware and software as well as customer-deployed configurations from legacy architecture to new architecture; perform data analysis of auditing and compliance reports and report findings to management; utilize Python and Java scripting languages for portal programming; perform real-time analysis and diagnosis of network problems and the configuration and operation of commercial service offerings, networks, and devices; create and document high-level and detailed network designs for converged commercial networks, as well as for the augmentation of existing commercial networks; serve as a primary technical resource on Internet Protocol (IP) router network technologies (BGP, OSPF, ISIS), traffic flows, and overall end-to-end network communication; analyze network traffic engineering data to forecast network capacity requirements for efficient network designs and overall cost reductions; develop test and acceptance criteria for IP networks; maintain the configuration and support of the engineering design life cycle, ensuring that all detailed designs adhere to network standards; develop and implement routing architectures for the roll-out of Metro Ethernet products; provide last tier on-call support, focused on isolating and resolving network outages; participate in assigned projects and ensure the timely delivery of services; and communicate applicable design guidelines and provide guidance to markets to ensure compliance.
Job Specification:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and two (2) years of experience in network engineering, including performing migrations from legacy to new architecture; performing data analysis of auditing and compliance reports; and utilizing Java and Python for portal programming.
