Financial Analyst, Consolidated Planning & Reporting
The Financial Analyst, Consolidated Planning & Reporting is responsible for assisting with the consolidation and reporting of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) annual budget, 3-year strategic (“Mid-Range”) plan, and quarterly forecasts to Senior SPE Management and Sony Corporation. This position coordinates and communicates with the SPE divisional finance groups to ensure timely, accurate and complete reporting of financial planning data.
Responsibilities
Consolidation of Annual Budget, “Mid-Range” Plan and Quarterly Forecasts
• Assist in the preparation, consolidation, and submission of periodic financial projections. This includes annual budget, a 3-year strategic (“Mid-Range”) plan, and quarterly forecasts of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements for all SPE operating divisions.
• Maintain BPC templates for collection of projected financials from operating units.
• Assist in the coordination of divisional finance group submissions to ensure timely, accurate and complete submissions
• Review and analyze financial data submitted by operating units
• Analyze variances to prior plans and actual results; document explanations
• Assist divisional finance staff with all aspects of budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare financial reports (includes annual budget and mid-range plan books)
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly Board of Directors presentations, Budget Presentation, and Mid-Range Plan Presentations
Special Projects and Ad-Hoc Requests
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports for senior SPE management and Sony Corporation
• Provide ad hoc support to Corporate Financial Reporting as needed
Requirements
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Certification/Licenses: CPA track a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of accounting principles (income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets)
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills
• Self starter with a positive attitude and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging, fast-paced environment
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
• BPC/SAP and/or general accounting/budgeting systems
